Overview of the Captek Fabrication Process

The High Esthetics, High Strength, High Temperature Stability, Resistance to Plaque, and Special Handling Properties of the Captek Material are achieved through the unique method in which the copings are fabricated. The natural phenomenon of Capillary Attraction is used as the casting or joining method of the hard particles and the resilient particles of metal present in the final coping. The result is a semi-resilient coping system that incorporates the best properties of the platinum group metals and the best properties of high purity gold. Never before has a crown understructure been made that incorporates so many desirable physical properties.

Technique:

Step 1: Die Preparation
Pour Master Model and Prepare Captek Refractory Die.

Step 2: P Application
The Captek P layer is built and fired.

Step 3: G Application
The Captek G is applied to the processed Captek P and fired.

Step 4: Finishing
The coping is divested and the margins are finished.

Step 5: Capbond Application
Capbond is applied.

Step 6: Opaque Application
Two thin layers of opaque are now applied.
